The Maxwell Citizen commemorative booklets

The Maxwell Citizen highlights the concept of citizenship, which is at the core of the Maxwell School tradition. The essays in the gate-fold, perfect-bound booklet (designed as a donor premium) and its companion saddle-stitched version (distributed to graduating students) stress the school’s values beautifully.

Both booklets use the same design on interior pages, keeping costs down. Classic typography and a black-and-gray color scheme are sombre, yet contemporary. And UV inks really make the two-color printing pop.

Using post-consumer recycled stocks kept the project close to the principles of the Athenian Oath, the school’s unofficial motto, which says, in part, “We will transmit this city not only not less, but greater, better, and more beautiful than it was transmitted to us.” Hear, hear!
